I like Steve Carell in just about anything. Live-action, animated, doesn't matter to me. Whether's he's playing a bumbling spy in the revamped Get Smart, or voicing alongside Jim Carrey in Horton Hears a Who!, for my money, Carell is the funniest comedian working today.
So next July (July 9th, to be exact), he's back with Despicable Me, where he plays a truly awful man named Gru, who, once he loses the vaunted mantle of "World's #1 Supervillain", schemes to reclaim the title by stealing the moon.
From the same producer that brought us the Ice Age films, Despicable Me also features a horde of comedic talent, many from the Apatow camp, including Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Kristen Wiig, Will Arnett and Danny McBride.
