"Up in the Air" wins NBR Best Picture Award

The National Board of Review (NBR) has selected the upcoming George Clooney pic Up In the Air as the Best Picture of the Year.  Whether the Academy Awards will do the same next spring, we'll just have to wait and see.  (Though, for reference, they both agreed on Slumdog Millionaire last year.)  The winners were:

Picture:  Up in the Air
Director:  Clint Eastwood, Invictus
Actor:  (tie) George Clooney (Up in the Air) and Morgan Freeman (Invictus)
Actress:  Carey Mulligan, An Education
Supporting Actor:  Woody Harrelson, The Messenger
Supporting Actress:  Anna Kendrick, Up in the Air
Foreign Language:  A Prophet (France)
Animated Feature:  Up
Ensemble Cast:  It's Complicated
Breakthrough Performance, Actor:  Jeremy Renner, The Hurt Locker
Breakthrough Performance, Actress:  Gabourey Sidibe, Precious
Original Screenplay:  The Coen Brothers, A Serious Man
Adapted Screenplay:  Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner, Up in the Air
Special Filmmaking Achievement Award:  Wes Anderson, Fantastic Mr. Fox
Spotlight Award (for best Directorial debut):  (tie) Duncan Jones (Moon), Oren Moverman (The Messenger) and Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer)

If the Academy sees fit to mirror these winners, I think I will be very satisfied.
