Same here, I was actually about to pick Mufasa and changed at the last second to Despicable Me, but I thought it would be the next film to go. That's a great catch so late in round 1.

Sorry for the delay. I was asleep when I went on the clock.

We've officially reached "The Sequels to Hit Movies that Feature Almost Zero Returning Original Cast Members" Phase of the Draft. While I do believe that all of these films have upside, only one of them stars Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal and Paul Mescal.

Indeed, that's one hell of a cast.

Do you have a way of reaching UDM, Tranny ? I have him on Instagram, although I don't know how often he's there, and I must be able to find an old email that must be at least 10 years old.

Yeah I was surprised to see Mufasa fall to me at 7 but I can see why… it’s the exact kind of movie audiences are pushing back against. Then again, so is most everything else on the board

I don't like the Beetlejuice or Gladiator picks. These are two sequels not a lot of people asked for and neither Jenna Ortega nor Paul Mescal are box office draws.

They didn't even use the original sequel concepts that had become mythical in Internet lore (Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian and Maximus becomes immortal).

I was able to track one down (stevenjfr_21@hotmail.com) from a 2017 game email. Hopefully it's still active.

Assuming he's still in Manitoba, he's probably just getting up.

It's UDM's birthday today, so he might be preoccupied. Or so old he's gone senile.

Sorry to keep you waiting, had a pesky thing called monday morning work to take care of, but get a little breather now.

Glad to be back!

I'm surprised this one is still available. I'll take the Garfield Movie for my first pick. I think it'll be top animated movie of the summer.

Little bit conflicted on my next pick, but will choose shortly

The Garfield Movie was the summer movie I was referring to. Yes, Garfield is a bit of a joke now but he's still got fans and kids don't really care about what cynics think. I was at a Friends of the Library sale last week and found a copy of Garfield at Large for my nephew. He loved looking at the pictures.

In addition, The Super Mario Bros. Movie did gangbusters and this one has that movie's leading voice.

Really waffling between a few picks here

There's a movie i want to pick but there's no box office guarantee and it might actually still be available at my next pick.

I dont really feel good about any of the sequels, prequels, sidequels and rebootquels, so i'm just going to pick something original.

Well, UDM certainly didn't help make this selection any less difficult as every single one of the half dozen or so films I was considering here is still on the board. After declaring myself too scared to take a superhero movie at this juncture and talking myself out of the other options in the hopes that at least one of them is available in round #3, I'll be rolling the dice on A Quiet Place: Day One. Going back to the beginning of the invasion is an inspired hook for a prequel, Part II made $160 mil in a compromised marketplace in the summer of 2021 and it's in an ideal corridor of the summer slate to overperform considering that there's no other blockbuster not aimed at families releasing between the 2nd weekend of June and 3rd weekend of July.

I never thought Beetlejuice and Garfield would go in the first round.
