Trailers: Made in Dagenham and Rabbit Hole

Two trailers were released this week for films featuring key players in the race for best actress and supporting actress.

Nigel Cole's Made in Dagenham reflects the 1968 Ford sewing machinists strike where female workers protested against sexual harassment and for equal pay. The early indication is that Sally Hawkins, Miranda Richardson and Rosamund Pike are excellent in their respective roles. I will be seeing the film at a screening on November 1st.

John Cameron Mitchell's Rabbit Hole focuses on a couple (Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart) dealing with the loss of their child. Early reactions have implied that this is Nicole's best work in quite a few years and ditto for Dianne Wiest who portrays her mother. I would love to see Nicole back in prime form as she was on an absolute tear for a five year span (1999-2004) and then started choosing some questionable films to star in. With the right script and director she is still one of the premiere thespians and every indication is that this is one of her best portrayals.
